a little about us.

who we are.

Hi, we're Emily and John, founders of this social good initiative helping small businesses during a time of uncertainty. We both come from the marketing and advertising world and love building brands. Emily is a strategist, specializing in social media, customer experiences and social innovation and John is an associate creative director, specializing in advertising, design and branding. We built the neighbourgood in March out of heartache for our neighbours – Chef Hironaka who always remembers how we like our sushi, Patricio who left his job to open his own barbershop and Micheline, who is happiest when she's teaching her spin classes. They are why we love our Toronto, a city of vibrant neighbourhoods, culture and dreams.

our family.

Austin comes from a background of introducing shared electric scooters to cities and campuses. He joined the neighbourgood because he loves the Toronto small business community, and felt that he could translate his sales skills into helping business owners understand how the neighbourgood can help. His favourite neighbourhood is Parkdale because it's an inclusive community with a lot of great places to eat and drink. Austin's favourite TO activity is to grab coffee and explore the ravine system on weekends with friends.

Peggy is a marketer, specializing in affiliate marketing, social media and branding. She loves walking down the streets of Toronto with her camera and exploring the local culinary scene with friends. Her favourite neighbourhoods are West Queen West and Ossington. She joined the neighbourgood because she was saddened to see some of her favourite restaurants closing down and struggling to survive, so she wanted to support where she could.

Kimberly is a product manager, software developer, and a native Torontonian. She has a background in retail and hospitality, and understands how deeply these industries and the people working in them have been affected by COVID-19. She joined the neighbourgood so she could do her part to help these businesses move through this difficult time. Her favourite neighbourhood is Queen West, and she can't wait to pay a visit to her some of the best coffee shops, restaurants, and boutiques in town!
